Teams

  • Staff - 1 Coach, 1 Manager (One staff member to be a female, the other male.)
  • Athletes - 4 Men, 4 Woman

Classification & Eligibility 

Twenty years of age and under as of December 31st 2027. Birth year 2007 or later.

All athletes must meet the eligibility requirements as outlined in the CGC's Athlete Eligibility Policy

Competition & Event

The competition includes Qualification Rounds, followed by Individual Match Play and Mixed Team Match Play. The Qualification Rounds shall be the Indoor 18m Round (WA 4.5.2.1) followed by the Indoor Match Elimination and Finals Rounds (WA 4.5.2.2) and Mixed Team Elimination and Finals Rounds (WA 4.5.1.2 as modified by WA 4.5.2.2).

ARCHERY CANADA RULES Book 3 Target Archery for athlete equipment and competition practices and Book 2 Events for event organization and competitions will govern the event.

A Province/Territory may enter 1 competitor in each of the six categories:
  • Barebow men
  • Compound men
  • Recurve men
  • Barebow women
  • Compound women
  • Recurve women
The remaining woman/man on each P/T Team can be entered into one of the above categories. Both additional athletes must be entered into the same category (Barebow, Compound, or Recurve) by P/T Team (ie. 2 women in recurve, 2 men in recurve, 1 woman in compound, 1 man in compound, 1 woman in barebow, and 1 man in barebow). The deadline for this to be determined by each Province/Territory is set out in section 7.2.

Day 1: Open Practice
Day 2: Official Practice
Day 3: Qualifying Round 1

The Qualifying Round is 120 arrows: two 18-meter Rounds. The Qualification Rounds are shot on the following target faces:
  • Compound: World Archery 40cm, 3-Spot Triangular - Compound, Target Face
  • Recurve: World Archery 40cm, 3-Spot Triangular - Recurve, Target Face
  • Barebow: World Archery 40cm, 10 Ring, Target Face 

Day 4: Qualifying Round 2

Day 5: Individual Match Rounds

Registration & Event Entries

Canada Games Council Registration Deadline

All participants (athletes, coaches, managers and additional team staff) must be registered in the Canada Games electronic registration system no later than 30 days prior to the Opening Ceremony (January 28, 2027).

Deadline to identify Final Discipline Allocation

Provinces/Territories must confirm to the Executive Director of Archery Canada the discipline allocation to which they will be registering the fourth man and fourth woman by December 15th, 2026. Changes to this allocation may not be made after this deadline for any reason.

Athlete Substitution

If a Province/Territory needs to substitute an athlete following the December 15th discipline allocation deadline (in accordance with the Canada Games Council Registration Policy), the substitute athlete must compete in the same discipline as the athlete they are replacing. This athlete substitution cannot change the discipline allocation of the fourth athlete as defined in section 7.2 above.

Event Entry Deadline

Event entries for each participant will be confirmed at the Coach/Manager meeting held prior to the first event.
