Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes BC Archery’s current policies and practices with regard to the collection of your personal data. The term “personal data” refers to personally identifiable information about you, which may include but is not limited to the following:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Date of birth
  • Coaching certification number (if applicable)

It is always your choice whether or not to provide the above information, however, if you choose not to provide the requested information you may not be eligible to participate in programs or services provided or supported by BC Archery. At the request of a tournament/event organizer or service provider, the membership list may be consulted by our staff or Board of Directors to determine an individual’s eligibility to participate in a BC Archery approved event or program.

We may use your personal information to contact and correspond with you, respond to your inquiries and process your requests.

We will share your information with Archery Canada to enable registration in the national database—membership with Archery Canada is automatic upon membership with BC Archery. It is required that every member of BC Archery be registered with Archery Canada. Archery Canada has its own Privacy Policy and we recommend that you visit their website to familiarize yourself with their policy.

In order to further its goals, BC Archery must collect information regarding its members which is used in the administration of our programs and services. BC Archery will not sell or share its membership list with any third parties unless required by law.

When you register for an activity, officials (organizers, staff, coaches, etc) generally have access to your personal information. You cannot expect complete privacy in matters concerning personal information necessary to the organization of a tournament. Your name, age category, gender, the identity of your competitors and your scores will be made public in the official results when posted to the BC Archery and/or Archery Canada website(s), and to any applicable third-party sites. This also applies to photographs taken during an event or program: your personal image as obtained at a public venue may be used for promotional purposes and/or shared on a public website.


Anonymous data collected through our website

BC Archery does not collect personally identifiable information from individuals through our website unless provided to us voluntarily and knowingly. However, like many other sites, our website may automatically collect certain non-personally identifying information regarding your use of the website such as the internet protocol (IP) address of your computer, the IP address of your internet service provider, the date and time you access the site, the internet address of the website from which you linked directly to our site, the operating system you are using, the sections of the website you visit, the website pages read and images viewed, and the content you download from the website.

This information is not linked to you as an individual user. Rather, it is recorded as general statistical information which may be used and disclosed to others by us in order to monitor use of our website, to improve the website and generally enable us to provide you with the best possible web experience.

Our website may provide hyperlinks to other websites/programs that may be of interest to you. BC Archery and its employees are not responsible for the content or privacy policies of those websites and we urge you to review the privacy policies of those sites to determine how your information may be acquired or used.
